Many people I work with are highly functional, articulate, and self aware. They understand what is happening intellectually, yet their nervous system does not reset easily. In these cases, verbal processing and cognitive strategies are often insufficient on their own.

Essential oils provide non verbal, non cognitive input. They work alongside touch, breath, sound, and pacing to support state change rather than symptom suppression. It is a different level of intervention, one that works with how the nervous system actually receives and processes information.

Oils are used deliberately and sparingly. They are selected based on nervous system presentation, not on diagnosis or generic claims. Application may include topical use during bodywork or inhalation as part of pacing and settling.

Their role is to support regulation, not to stimulate, override, or push the system. Use of oils is always optional and discussed in advance.

Why Quality and Consistency Matter

When working with the nervous system, precision matters. Adulterated or inconsistent oils can create irritation, overstimulation, or unpredictable responses. This is not appropriate in sensitive, regulation focused work.

 A Note on Medication and Care


This work does not position essential oils as replacements for medical treatment. Medication can be appropriate and necessary in many situations. What is often missing is support for the nervous system’s capacity to reorganise, settle, and recover.
